[ Once she's left alone in her ""savior's"" (ymmv on the term) bedroom, Zelda immediately texts someone she's sure would be able to help her... relax? Process? She's not sure which. She just remembers Jonas telling her that they could be bumble along this new path together. ]
Dear Jonas, I recognize my message arrives quite late in the evening and apologize if this disturbs you or finds you otherwise occupied. As you know, there are a great many things out there near the Cwyld... I had been walking and found myself in the crosshairs of an infected beast.
I am quite alright now. My life was saved by another. I believe him to be a vampire, though I am not quite sure. However, I felt a need to warn you about my encounter. Please be on the look out. As the moon rises, so too do tensions...
Jonas, I am unsure of the apartment number, so I would not be able to supply the address at the moment. I believe he has little intention to harm me, and I will be fine. Many opportunities presented themselves, after all.
In the morning, if you would like, I can retrieve it and you can meet me outside. If he is a vampire, the sun would be quite terrible on his skin.
(that's worry and frustration talking, feeling the need to backtrack a moment. this is rough for jonas, the helicopter mom.)
You believe he has no intention of harming you, or he actually has no intention of harming you? I don't even know how a girl must feel staying alone with a strange guy let alone a vampire.
Please, please keep me updated. Okay? And in the meantime, we can keep chatting.
I am sorry, Jonas. I'm fairly confident that if need be, I am capable of handling myself. He has had opportunities to hurt me and not taken them, however.
[ There's a pause. She didn't sign that one. ]
I confess that I Have been living in an abandoned cabin outside of town. It is a bit closer to the Cwyld, I believe, and so, it is partly my own foolishness that has caused this situation.

omg you're stressing me out. When I come get you tomorrow morning, do you want me to help you look for somewhere better so you're not the cywdls's nextdoor neighbour? There are plenty of empty cottages. Definitely closer to others, but when the leaves grow in on all the trees come Spring it'll be more private, right?
(gaelic, man. gaelic.)
I know that's forward and we don't know each other very well, but idk. It's not a "oh, Zelda can't manage on her own" thing, I just think you should be nearer to the safer areas so you can rest easier.
[ How... do you tell someone that you're trying your hardest in your own way but you do not know if it's something you can put on them? She's glad, at least, that he stresses he trusts her. ]
Jonas, Your words are kind and I thank you for them. We may not know each other well, but your heart is one that could hold all the courage in the world, and then some. However, I ask you to trust me for the time being on what I can and cannot handle.
Once, when I was quite young, I had been placed to train in a lake. The waters were quite frigid. I was not permitted to move for hours at a time, and when exhaustion took over, I passed out there. My limits are something I am familiar with, intimately so.
My training will not continue for too long... There is only so much one can do out there alone. At that time, I shall ask you for opinions on apartments, or homes. How is one to entertain friends out in the woods, after all? Especially when the address isn't something you can easily give them.
(jonas reads the message, then reads it again when his heart picks up its pace. he can't help the way it makes his ears burn, never having heard a compliment like it, but it's his tight throat that's the more significant reaction. she really means that, having typed this as carefully as she might write a letter.
"your heart is one that could hold all the courage in the world, and then some."
how does he cope with that? react to that? such an impressive personβwho's been freezing herself in and out of waters since she was youngβis calling him courageous? when she's just escaped the cwyld and stared down a vampire?)
I read you, loud and clear.
We'll have a little party or something to celebrate your eventual return to civilization, how about that? I'll make sure there's this stacked banquet table of soup and all the hottest foods this place has to offer. Lol, in the meantime I'm curious about the thing that attacked you. What was it like??
[ He listens well. Zelda likes this, but she likes his heart, too. There is definitely courage in him, yet, especially with such a question. ]
Jonas, You do strike me as the sort to have a recipe for a soup. Are you? Question for a question, perhaps.
As for the thing... Truth be told, I couldn't tell you what it was exactly. It moved nimbly and secretively. The eyes were white, reflecting back light. I had only spotted it with the name, Nier, had resolved to carry me from the spot without a word. Curious in hindsight, I wish I had a moment more to look at it. I believe that it was about the size of a bear, give or take a bit. I hope your interest is entirely scientific...?
(can't help but snort a laugh at that, giving his watch a baffled little smile.)
omg I don't, but I was tempted to claim that I did so I could figure out if it was a weird diss. What does that even mean?? LMAO
I'm just curious. Trust me, I'm not about to go look for this thing myself, it sounds super, super creepy. Do you think the cwyld is infecting regular creatures like bears and turning them into these monsters? or that maybe they're people but twisted to look like that? It's all difficult to consider.
Jonas, What is a 'diss'? I merely thought you would be the sort to know a recipe for something comforting, as your presence reminds me a bit of a dear friend of mine. Though, she was not the sort for comfort in that manner, she could offer protection and warmth in many other ways.
I believe that both are true. Animals exposed to the disease for a prolonged amount of time are perhaps warped by it's infection, leading them down a darker and more mentally ambiguous path. It hunted us, and did not attack without reason... This does suggest something greater than animal intelligence, of course. Who is to say? I'd have to inspect the corpse to know for sure. Perhaps tomorrow morning.
Woahhhhh. First off, a diss is an insult. Second, if you think I'm anything like that then I don't know what to say.
(how about "this conversation is killing me?" or "it's winter here? it thought this was the surface of the fucking sun.")
Mostly that I'm glad I remind you of her. It's actually really cool to hear I'm making a positive impact on at least one person's life like that. What was she like? Besides awesome?ππ
btw This is gonna sound weird, but I'm totally down to look at that dead thing with you. I should take a pic of it for posterity and report the sighting to the coven witches or smth. I've also got a couple friends who might like to see what it looks like. Does that sound okay?
(he's not the most forward thinker, more of a "follower" sort...........)
Jonas, I see! I shall keep this in mind. A diss is an insult.
On the surface, you might not see anything similar to the two of you.
[ It's... mostly the fact she ran to Jonas seeking out some kind of normalcy and comfort that brings her to that conclusion. ]
Urbosa was the leader of the Gerudo, a race of warrior women whom lived in the desert. She was whip smart, charismatic and supportive. The sort of woman who insisted on action, and told me that feeling sorry for myself would accomplish nothing. Her presence was soothing. She was my only connection to my mother...
As for that, I believe it is a splendid idea! Two heads are better than one. I do love a good expedition. How many do you think you'd like to bring? A group certainly would stave off any hunters, as well.
I'll tell Sasuke he's invited along. I'm sure he'll wanna go, since he'd want me to be safe and tracking a dead cwyld doesn't exactly sound all that relaxing. Have you met him yet?
(recalls telling his step-sister that carmen sandiego, the old one with the broad shoulders and knee-high boots, was his type. thinks wistfully about a whole desert of them. my god, it's glorious.)
Urbosa sounds badass, I wish she were here if only to keep us two unruly kids in line. I'm definitely going to get into trouble exploring or sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong, I need all the help I can get. How did she have connections to your mom, if that's not too personal to ask?
