Yes, much like that. [ Using his powers was all instinct. ] Do not worry. Instead, think about how you can improve—we're all here to learn.

[ Sandalphon may have picked up the staff? Is it? But he seems more concerned about Jonas' approach to their aptitude test. The last thing he would want is for his partner to feel like he's a burden. When the attention is brought back to his choice, though... He looks at the item in his hand with a discerning eye. ]

I suppose enchantment? I was never one to control the elements... A weapon in my hand feels right.

[ Then, naturally, he looks to the book his partner holds. What is that? Let him see it? ]

Unless you intend to hit your enemies with your book, I'm not too sure how enhancements would work in this case.

[ Because Sandalphon isn't too privy, he only knows one notion of enchantment? And also a narrow expertise for combat—physical or instinct. However, he does think about how it could be different in Jonas case. Maybe enchanting the book would increase casting speed? Skill potency?

A veteran witch overhears them, then corrects Sandalphon that enchantment isn't always an item, it could be a person. Likewise, it isn't always imbueing something with power, but also having power over a target. As an example, charming a target. Hearing that, Sandalphon wrinkles his nose with a furrowed brow.

No, he doesn't like that.

A dousing rod with a staff though... The veteran mentions they can do that using Divination and it might be easier for them to channel it through an object for now.
]

Do you wish to make an attempt to make an attempt?

[ Jonas would need to cast a spell if they want the rod to detect anything? Sandalphon can work on the divination part. ]
